Sworn French ↔ English interpreter

American-born, and French at heart

Following a degree in foreign language, linguistics and behaviourism, Janet travelled widely and resided several years in the UK before coming to live in France 27 years ago. She became a French national in 1998.

Today, her familiarity with both American and European cultures, life styles and mind-sets can contribute to optimizing your international relations and go beyond simply providing the language.

18 years of translating and interpreting experience...

Since then, she has worked regularly in cities in western France, like Brest, Quimper, Saint Brieuc, Rennes or Nantes, but also increasingly abroad, in the UK or Ireland for example. One feature has remained constant: the penchant for a job well done. This exacting approach has paved the way to keeping loyal clients and to the vital opportunity of working with other highly skilled professionals in interpretation.

A court-certified translator/interpreter since 1993, she has been relieved of sworn translation duties at her request and, as of 2007, will ensure only sworn interpreting missions.

and still the drive to continue improving her skills!

Although her daily work provides a good share of intellectual stimulation and opportunities to learn, Janet has recently sought additional formal training. In 2005, she completed a Master's degree in Translation and Technical Writing with highest honours at the University of Western Brittany (UBO) in Brest. In August 2006, she took part in the renowned Cambridge Conference Interpretation Course (CCIC) to improve her interpreting skills.

Combining the experience of a true pro with the latest techniques and best practices means aiming for excellence.
